Remembering FF Michael Reilly

20 years ago today, the FDNY faced the loss of two firefighters at a store fire in the South Bronx. One of the firefighters was one of our own. Michael Reilly (25), who began his career in the Ramsey FD, then moved to Connecticut and then was appointed to the FDNY in April of 2006. On August 27, 2006, Lieutenant Howard Carpluk of Engine Company 42 and Probationary Firefighter Michael Reilly of Engine Company 75 lost their lives while responding to a fire at a variety store on Walton Avenue in the Bronx.
