Dear Chief Warnet and Fire Dept. Staff,

I wanted to take a moment to thank you and your department for coming to my home last evening, 1/11/18, to help my daughter after she smelled a strange odor in our house. I unfortunately was not at home and not able to get home in time to assist her. Your thorough investigation luckily did not find any possible fire or gas leak, but you did identify a few changes I need to make to the area under my kitchen sink. I thank you for that and the items have been removed and will not be replaced in that area.

Thank you for your promptness, professionalism, time and expertise…and also the 2 smoke detectors.

I wish you and your staff a Happy New Year, but more importantly a safe and healthy one.

With my sincere appreciation,

JoAnn

Big thank you to Jim Dougherty and Tom Lanning for helping my daughter with car trouble at the rail station parking garage on New Years day. You two took time on a holiday and saved me driving two hours to help them. I can't thank you enough for your help. Also to Laura for taking my many calls to set this up. You all showed the true meaning of Brotherhood. It's nice to know I have some guardian angels in Ramsey. Thanks again. Take care and stay safe.

I recently read an article of a bee attack by back yard bees in your area.

I am a beekeeper in central Arizona and one of the first to encounter and deal with Africanized bees.  I do rescues and relocations, emergency calls and also raiae them with a strict management protocol.

We are unfortunately having incidences like you had fairly often here in Arizona.

If you'd like some insight into what probably happened there, why, what to do when it does and how to be ready, I would be happy to share what I know is happening acroas the country with the Africanized honey bees.

I was deeply saddened by the passing of former chief and friend Mark Madsen. Mark was fun loving, dedicated and would give you the shirt off his back if one was in need. A true firefighter who definately served well. I will remember him this way. Many a night was shared with "Buddah" at the Green Trolley or at Island Ave. These will remain fond memories. To Linda and family, my deepest sympathy. Rest in peace Mark. You're at rest now.
The sadness is compounded by the Ramsey FD's loss of Tim McGill. His death hits hard and touches both the former soldier and firefighter in me. His sacrifice for our nation and Army must never be forgotten. May he rest in peace and be with God. My sincerest condolences to his family.

Subject: Train / truck collision on Main Street

Hi,
I saw the pictures of the collision on your web site by FF Madson. My name is Anthony Falzo and I was the conductor on that freight train. I am an Ex-Chief with Wayne Fire Co. #4 and also the same person who saved the Pritchard children in 1989. I was wondering if you can foward any pictures you took at the scene. These are just for my own personal use. That is me in the locomotive 5614. You guy's and your PD were again excellent in your response. This could have been a disaster. You should have seen the people at the cafe's outside tables scatter. If there is anything I can do for you also please ask. My contact info. is below.
Thank you,

Loved looking through the site. Brought back a lot of great memories. Most of the best times that I had in the fire service were with RFD.
Congratulations Jim on becoming Chief. We go back a long way. I'm sure you'll do a great job. Say hi to George and the other guys for me. If you ever come south, look me up.

Stay safe.

Please know that our Command flag flies at half-mast in honor of Ranger Jankiewicz. We have lost a great American and an outstanding Ranger. Ramsey has lost one of its most precious sons. Know without doubt that Ranger Jankiewicz's sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Corporal Michael D. Jankiewicz
Killed in action on April 9, 2010
Operation Enduring Freedom
Corporal Michael D. Jankiewicz was a machine gun team leader assigned to Company A, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, Georgia. He was born on Jan. 23, 1987 in Ridgewood, New Jersey.
Cpl. Jankiewicz was killed during a combat operation in Zabul Province, Afghanistan April 9, 2010 when the CV-22 Osprey aircraft in which he was riding crashed. He was rapidly pulled from the wreckage and treated by unit medical personal, but succumbed quickly to the injuries he had sustained.
Cpl. Jankiewicz was on his fourth deployment in support of the War on Terror with one previous deployment to Afghanistan and two to Iraq.
After graduating from Bergen County Technical High School in Teterboro, New Jersey, Cpl. Jankiewicz enlisted in the U.S. Army in July 2006 in Philadelphia. He completed One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia as an Infantryman. Then after graduating from the Basic Airborne Course, he was assigned to the Ranger Indoctrination Program also at Fort Benning.
Following graduation from the Ranger Indoctrination Program, Cpl. Jankiewicz was assigned to Company A, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment in May 2007 where he served as a Grenadier, Machine Gunner, and Machine Gun Team Leader.
His military education includes the Basic Airborne Course, Ranger Indoctrination Program, and the U.S. Army Ranger Course.
His awards and decorations include the Ranger Tab, Combat Infantryman's Badge and the Parachutist Badge. He has also been awarded the Army Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.
He was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Meritorious Service Medal.
Cpl. Jankiewicz is survived by his father Anthony Jankiewicz of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and Serena Jankiewicz of Ramsey, New Jersey.
As a Ranger, Cpl. Michael D. Jankiewicz selflessly lived his life for others while he distinguished himself as a member of the Army's premier light-infantry unit, which remains continuously deployed in support of the Global War on Terrorism. In every instance he fought valiantly as he served his fellow Rangers and our great Nation.

Thank you, thank you for the awesome service for my Uncle Bob. He was a wonderful person and you gave him exactly what he deserved. The dedication you give to your own and the community can't be out done. I am extremely proud to say my grandfather Ed Markley and Uncle Bob combined gave many years to the Ramsey Fire Department. You guys are the best. Thank you again.
