Last Monday evening and this afternoon, the RFD has been familiarizing themselves with a new 55 and older facility in Upper Saddle River. The structure is a prefab designed wood frame and truss roof construction fully sprinkled. Each apartment has its own kitchen with individual heating and cooling units. We had a tour of the inside of the facility thanks to Ex Chief Jim Dougherty and then we brought the Tower Ladder this afternoon to practice placement, and identify limitations. Pre planning and the continued joint relationship with our brothers and sisters in USR is key to providing the protection needed in the event of an incident. USR Chief Jamie Lavien attended this afternoon’s session to establish the pre plan for this facility.
