Richard Scalione, 80, of Ramsey, formerly of Ridgewood, passed away on October 9, 2024. Husband of “Dolly” M. Scalione, and the late Barbara Scalione, who predeceased him in 2012. Father of Michael and Thomas Scalione, and the late Margaret E. Halpin, who predeceased him in 2022. Father in Law to Jane, Rebecca and Robert Halpin. A parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church in Ridgewood, Rich was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and the Perpetual Adoration Society. Rich was a 59 year member of the Ramsey Volunteer Fire Department, and a 40 year member of the Ridgewood Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as it Captain for many years. Rich was also Chief of the Ramsey Rescue Squad. He was Secretary of the NorthWest Bergen Mutual Aid Association for 40 years, and was County Coordinator for the NorthWest Bergen Mutual Aid Association. He was a Ridgewood Kasschau Band Shell Committee Member for many years, and enjoyed delivering flowers on Valentine’s Day, and part-time, for Perry’s Florist in Ridgewood.
