Late last week, Ramsey Chief Doug Harvey received word from NJ State Congressman Josh Gottheimer, the RFD has been awarded a grant from the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant program (AFG). Thank you to the efforts of Ex Chief Jonathan Krehel for filling out the necessary information and getting it submitted, the RFD will receive at total of $586,000.00. The grant will allow the RFD to replace aging SCBA's, turnout gear, and will provide funding for the continued training required by firefighters. With the constant rising costs of personal protective equipment and clothing, this grant helps to offset budgeting, saving taxpayer money. This equipment will be ordered as the grant money becomes available.
