Last night RFD members along with Mahwah Co. 1 held a drill at an acquired structure slated to be torn down in Upper Saddle River. Two stations were set up for different evolutions. Members were rotated to the different stations. A roof ventilation station was set up to allow members to use the saws and be taught how to safely cut through a roof until a thunderstorm came through. The second station allowed all members to practice hoseline advancement inside. Thanks to Captain Mike Scalione with the roof evolutions and to Captain James Warnet from Mahwah teaching hose advancement inside. Acquired structures are very helpful to allow firefighters perform live training scenarios.
