On Friday night 4/22/11, Ramsey FD was called to assist the Allendale Fire Department with a chimney fire at 323 N Franklin Turnpike. Tower Ladder 441 with Chief Jim Dougherty, (430) Deputy Chief Randy Sterbinsky, (450) responded. Upon arrival, smoke and flames were showing from the chimney. Tower 441 with OIC Capt. Gregg Hewit (470) was ordered to set up on side "A" and raise the platform to the chimney. First due Allendale crews entered the structure to check for any extension on each floor assisted by Waldwick FD. Wyckoff Tower Ladder 241 was ordered to raise their platform to the chimney to assist Ramsey. Mahwah Ladder 2 was F.A.S.T. The fire was contained to the chimney with little extension. No injuries were reported.
