Tower 441 nears completion

The new Tower 441 is finally near completion after a nearly 5 year process. Currently the truck is undergoing the final stages of preparation before delivery, which will take place later this month. Once it's delivered, the members will be busy with training and equipment installation before placing it in service. A wet down will be planned for next spring as we wait for delivery of a new Mini Pumper ... (Full Story)

Continued Progress on New Tower

The new tower continues to make progress on the line. Completion date is slated for the last week of July. A final inspection trip will be the week of August 6. The truck will then be delivered to the dealer for final touches.... (Full Story)

New Mini Pumper Chassis

KME has received the chassis from Ford into their Pa. facilities to begin the process of building the mini pumper. The FWD F550 is powered by a Power Stroke diesel engine and automatic Transmission. When completed, the truck will be outfitted with a 1000 GPM Darley pump and 250 gallon water tank. New Tower Progress

Members of the RFD traveled out to Wyoming, Minnesota last week to inspect the progress of the new tower at the Rosenbauer factory. The vehicle was thoroughly gone over to be sure specifications were met before the body is manufactured and mounted. Ramsey FD Assists Mahwah FD at Condo Fire

On Tuesday afternoon, February 2nd, the Mahwah Fire Dept was dispatched to 980 Juniper way for a fire in a townhouse complex. Fire Chief Tom Loreto (130) arrived on scene and was met with a well involved fire on the third floor. Ramsey Assists Upper Saddle River at Early Morning Structure Fire

The Upper Saddle River FD received a call of a basement fire at 25 Holly Drive early Friday Morning. USR FD arrived and found heavy smoke on the interior of a large wood frame. USR Command (1230) immediately called for mutual aid, bringing Saddle River and Ramsey to the scene. The smoke condition inside required multiple search teams to find the seat of the fire.
